The car ownership of over 400 million vehicles, the mature supply chain system, and the selection of high-quality and cost-effective models provide a solid foundation for China&#039;s used car exports,&quot; said Luo Lei, vice president of the China Automobile Dealers Association, at the 2025 China Used Car Export Ecosystem Conference held recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Data shows that in 2024, my country&#039;s used car exports exceeded 400,000 units, reaching more than 160 countries and regions, becoming an emerging force driving automobile consumption and promoting industrial upgrading. At the same time, China&#039;s used car exports urgently need to build a collaborative development pattern guided by the government, driven by enterprises, and empowered by associations, to break down barriers in overseas markets with a standardized and internationalized service system, and form a more competitive global used car circulation network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAR Inc. CEO Gao Dewu stated that the global automotive distribution system is undergoing rapid changes, with reliable vehicle sources being the cornerstone of the ecosystem and transparent information serving as the bridge of trust. The second half of the used car export market is not simply about selling vehicles, but about &quot;selling an ecosystem.&quot;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Huang Ruoyu, president of the Used Car Export Branch of the China Automobile Dealers Association, stated that China&#039;s dual export of &quot;technology + production capacity&quot; is accelerating the global automotive trade process, a trend that is irreversible. With its leading position in production, sales, and exports, and a global export volume of 6.4 million vehicles, China is reshaping trade flows and laying the foundation for its market structure. Based on this, Chinese automakers are cultivating the global market with a differentiated strategy: focusing on &quot;reliability of gasoline-powered vehicles&quot; in the Middle East, &quot;electric vehicle infrastructure compatibility&quot; in Central and Eastern Europe, and strengthening &quot;high cost-performance advantage&quot; in Latin America. This three-pronged approach is continuously expanding the penetration and influence of Chinese automobiles in the global market, bringing new opportunities to the used car market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Li Jia, Vice President of CAR Inc., believes that China&#039;s used car exports need to overcome three major hurdles: professionalism, trust, and scale, to establish an international competitive advantage. Based on CAR Inc.&#039;s overseas experience, he proposed three key paths: First, proactively &quot;go global&quot; by establishing a direct sales network in six key countries through port-based pre-positioned warehouses, overseas warehouses, and overseas offices, covering more than 30 surrounding countries and regions; second, integrate resources by forming a &quot;vehicle sourcing working group&quot; with domestic institutions and vehicle suppliers to share overseas business opportunities and improve matching efficiency; and third, focus on &quot;quasi-standardized products&quot; by promoting the standardization of non-standard used cars through a &quot;four-same&quot; strategy (same year, same mileage, same condition, same price) to enhance market trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c&quot;It requires the concerted efforts of institutional vehicle suppliers, logistics, after-sales service and other supporting enterprises to jointly promote the export of used cars to a new level, following the path of &#039;institutional vehicle suppliers paving the way, supporting services following up, and trading platforms going overseas&#039;,&quot; said Li Jia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As one of the core achievements of the 2025 China Used Car Export Ecosystem Conference, the Used Car Agency Vehicle Source Export Working Group, jointly established by the China Automobile Dealers Association and CAR Inc., was officially launched, marking the official entry of my country&#039;s used car exports into a new stage of development characterized by &quot;ecologicalization, standardization, and branding&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a member organization under the Used Car Export Branch of the China Automobile Dealers Association, the working group&#039;s initial members include 23 OEMs, 7 financial leasing institutions, 5 leasing and mobility companies, and 3 dealers, covering the entire chain from vehicle supply and financial services to distribution services. It will become one of the most representative industry collaboration platforms in the current domestic used car export sector. The core objective of the working group is to integrate the scattered vehicle sources, technology, and channel resources of various institutions into a unified network, shifting used car exports from a fragmented approach to a collaborative effort to build a strong reputation for Chinese used cars overseas and make them the preferred channel for bulk overseas procurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guangdong is one of the provinces with the largest number of cars in China. Yan Fei, president of the Guangdong Automobile Circulation Association, said that relying on its market foundation, Guangdong has accelerated the export of used cars through policy support and service optimization. In the first seven months of this year, Guangdong exported 46,000 used cars, exceeding last year&#039;s total. Zhao Zhe, vice president of CAR Inc., said that as the largest car rental company in China, CAR Inc. has built a complete ecosystem of &quot;buying, renting, repairing, and selling,&quot; covering new car procurement, rental services, its own maintenance system, and domestic and international used car distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Xu Changming, a senior economist at the State Information Center, analyzed that the core driving force for global automobile demand growth is rapidly shifting from developed countries to emerging markets. Chinese domestic brands are performing strongly in markets such as Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and ASEAN, with new energy vehicles accounting for over 50% of sales in emerging markets.
